Johnston Mawhinney

MAWHINNEY – June 5, 2021 (peacefully) at his home, 19 Letrim Road, Castledawson, Johnston (Jaunty), dearly beloved husband of the late Margaret, much loved father of Geoffrey, Arlene and Darren, dear father-in-law of Irene, Brian and Ingrid, loving grandfather of Nico, Matthew, Courtney and Jamie and dearest brother of Gwen, Phyllis and the late Raymond, Cedric and David. Funeral service was held in Christ Church, Castledawson on Tuesday, June 8, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Donations in memory, if desired, for UK Dementia Research Institute, payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donations A/c), 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP. Always loved and remembered by the entire Family Circle. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4 v 7.

DOUGLAS (née Buchanan) – May 31, 2021 (peacefully) at Moneymore Care Home, in her 99th year, Mary Jane (Molly), dearly beloved wife of the late Percy, formerly of Upperlands, much loved mother of Elizabeth and Allan, dear mother-in-law of Bill and Karen, loving grandmother of Jayne, Claire, Kathryn, Kerrie and Stephanie, dearest great-grandmother of Ryan, Jamie, Jack, Mark and Callum and a dearly loved sister of Reia and her husband Tony and the late Gretta, Frances and Jack.  Funeral service was held in St. Lurach’s Parish Church, Maghera on Wednesday, June 2, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.  “The Lord is my Shepherd”.

SMYTH – called home to be with the Lord, May 30, 2021 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family at his home, 1 Thornhill, Magherafelt, (formerly of Moneymore Road), Samuel (Sammy), dearly beloved husband of Eleanor, much loved and devoted father of Esther and Judith, dear father-in-law of Kieron, loving papa of Finn, Jonah and Maeve and dearest brother of Robert and Charlie. Funeral service was held in Aughrim Gospel Hall on Tuesday, June 1, followed by burial in Polepatrick Cemetery, Magherafelt. Funeral service was held in First Magherafelt Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 3, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Funeral service was held in Christ Church Castledawson on Tuesday, May 11, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.
